Annapurna Panorama Trek

Annapurna Panorama Trek commonly known as Ghorepani - Poon Hill trek, located in Annapurna region, is truly a majestic trek in Nepal. The trek offers an amazing view of mountains along with culture reflecting villages, inhabiting predominantly Gurung & Magar community. Dense forest full Nepalese national flower rhododendron of every hue, cool breeze with flowery smell in the ambiance, rare species of birds chirping in a melodious tune and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurnas with Machpuchhre (the Fishtail Mountain) on the background never leaving the trail and trekkers alone is a gift of nature not accessible in all landscape. The most important highlight of this trip is hiking to the top of Poon Hill, which possibly is one of the most spectacular mountainous landscapes on Earth. While sunrise every morning, guests can witness the most compelling snow capped white mountain turn into brass.  The two gigantic creation of Mother Nature Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks above 6000 meters create a magic in the environment which would bring out all the emotions in a person every morning.

We unload our luggage and cross the rustic bridge of Modi khola and walk for about 15 minutes to Birethanti and get our permits checked. Today we walk on the jeep track and make easy ascend to Tikhedhunga. In spring we can take the opportunity to cool off the scorching heat and fatigue by swimming in one of the streams on our way to Tikhedhunga, which has been the major attraction of this trail.

Day 05: Thikhedhunga to Ghorepani
On this day we make an ascent of 1360 meters in total within 4-6 hours of trek. Today we trek on this beautifully crafted, manmade staircase with 3500 steps is physically challenging but not technical and yet beautiful. Once we reach Ulleri we come across beautiful settlement of Magar communities to the pasture land which further leads into deep forest. We make our way through beautiful oak and Rhododendron forest, 2 crystal clear streams and a ridge before we make a final and short climb to Ghorepani.

On this day we have breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and immediately leave for Tadapani. On this day we walk on the trail that is almost entirely in the middle of Rhododendron and oak forest and walk sheer uphill to Deurali. The view of Annapurna gamut and the deepest gorge; Kaligandaki, from Deurali as well is unparallel. We walk downhill from Deurali and except for some treacherous descend the walk is smooth and crosses some streams with swimming prospect along with some beautiful water fall.
Day 07: Tadapani to Chomrong
The trek gets basic from this day onwards and we make 780m in descend and 280m in ascent within 3-5 hours. After Deurali the trail is more relaxed but undergoes one of the most adventurous section being it prone to avalanche. The most beautiful and majestic views waits at the Machhapuchhre base camp. After taking breakfast at regular time, we trek the same route to Annapurna base camp on the previous day. We first head to MBC followed by Deurali, Himalaya, Dovan and finally Bamboo. We descend for almost 7 hours until we reach Bamboo and the descend is painless. As every day we take frequent breaks in between the initial point and final destination. After a long day on trails we rest at a tea house in Bamboo.
