Gosaikunda Trek

Gosainkunda trek is for those who like exploring religion along with natural presence. Gosainkunda a freshwater lake which carries religious beliefs in Hindu religion is located in Langtang National Park at an altitude of 4,380 meters. The trek extends through one part of the Langtang national park to the end of Langtang valley, with an eye pleasing Langtang range moving closer.

Following the Trishuli River, one of the biggest rivers in the country towards north out of Kathmandu, we head our travel towards and through Trishuli Bazaar to Dhunche and further to Syabrubesi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. You then swing east into the Langtang valley, crossing the river several times at different points. As you travel up along a gorge-like, lower section of the valley you undergo through dense oak and rhododendron forests and even cross glacial moraine on your way to the Tamang village of Langtang.  After this point, trekkers climb ahead to Gosaikund, though altitude sickness is a concern due to rapid ascent. Many village habitations come across the travelers in around every two hours. The trek offers options of accommodation, and limited variety of food options at tea house stops. The trek is tourist friendly trek and moderate on the scale of level of difficulty.

We can feel the chill in the breeze once we reach Kutumsang, which is predominantly inhabited by the indigenous Tamang community.
